On November 7, 2019, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga cast his vote in the Kibra parliamentary by-election at Old Kibra Primary School.

As he urged Kibra residents to be peaceful, Raila emphasized the importance of guarding their votes, saying, “We want the people to decide on their own… we urge all our supporters to be very peaceful today we don’t want anybody to complain of intimidation.”

With 188 presiding officers and 625 clerks overseeing the exercise, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) had listed 118,658 voters on its register.

Calling on those who had not yet cast their votes to come out and exercise their democratic right, Raila encouraged the people of Kibra to decide their own fate in the by-election.
