November 7, 2019, marked a significant day for Tanzanian talent manager Babu Tale, as he scooped the Best African Talent/Artists Managers 2019 award. However, he remains humble, crediting his team for his success.
Speaking about his fellow Wasafi managers, Salam SK and Mkubwa Fella, Babu Tale expressed his gratitude, saying, 'Mi siwezi kuwa meneja bora kama team yangu sio bora. Namshukuru Fella, yeye ndio role model wangu. Lakini uwepo wa Sallam kwenye kundi umesaidia kunikaribishia mabadiliko.'
As one of the top managers at WCB, Babu Tale acknowledges that being at the top comes with its own set of challenges. He revealed that it's not just about enjoying the fruits of success but also dealing with internal and external battles.
When asked about Diamond's seemingly effortless ability to stay at the top, Babu Tale attributed it to the artist's willingness to take risks, saying, 'Diamond ni mtu wa kudhubutu.'
However, Babu Tale's journey as a manager has not been without its challenges. He revealed that a certain group of artists lashed out at him in a song, leaving him feeling demotivated. He said, 'Nilishawai kuchukia wasanii walipoungana wakaniimba nyimbo kabisa ya kunitukana. I was like…acha niachane na hii kazi. Iliniuma.'
Despite the challenges, Babu Tale remains committed to his work, crediting his team and the support of his colleagues for his success.
