Gor Mahia, the reigning champions of the Kenyan Premier League, saw their unbeaten run come to an end on November 7, 2019, as they lost to Mathare United by a solitary goal in Machakos.
The match, played at the Machakos Stadium, saw Mathare United's substitute Daniel Otieno score the late winner in the 88th minute, dealing a blow to Gor Mahia's title aspirations.
The defeat meant that Gor Mahia missed out on a chance to leapfrog Tusker at the top of the table, while Mathare United moved up to 6th position with the three points.
Elsewhere, Western Stima came from behind to beat Bandari 3-1 in the other match played in Kisumu, with Stima moving up to 7th position on the table.
