On November 7, 2019, Gor Mahia, the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions, made a surprising decision to abandon their e-ticketing system, which they had adopted just two months prior.

The club's chairman, Ambrose Rachier, cited the system's failure to generate sufficient revenue as the primary reason for the change.

According to Rachier, the online ticketing mode had resulted in a substantial drop in revenue collection, with the club only managing to collect Sh1 million in matches attended by large crowds.

He attributed the system's failure to the verification process, which had led to significant financial losses for the club.

Rachier urged fans to purchase tickets for the upcoming Mashemeji derby against AFC Leopards at Kasarani early to avoid congestion at the gate.
