uKheshe, a South African fintech company, is driving financial inclusion and cashless transactions through its innovative QR cash card and microtransaction platform.
As part of its 'Go cashless' campaign, uKheshe will reward 20 entrepreneurs with R25 000 each this summer, helping micro-businesses grow and thrive.
According to Clayton Hayward, co-founder of uKheshe, 'financial inclusion is a global issue, and we are confident that our cash card approach will continue to make a positive impact.'
uKheshe has launched a competition to encourage the use of its cash card and educate the unbanked and underbanked. Starting on 8 November 2019, one lucky entrepreneur will win R25 000 each week until the end of February 2020.
Hayward notes, 'it is heart-warming to read how the uKheshe QR cash card is helping so many diversified micro-businesses prosper. There is no limit to what this solution can do for the local economy.'
With 370 million people remaining unbanked in Africa, digital financial services like uKheshe play a major role in increasing financial inclusion. According to The World Bank Group, financial inclusion grew by 43% in 2017, and the uptake of uKheshe's services suggests a promising future for digital financial services in Africa.
uKheshe will announce its first five R25 000 winning entrepreneurs this Friday, 8 November 2019, with the cash rewards continuing until the end of February 2020.
