Published on November 7, 2019, Tanzanians are eagerly awaiting the Wasafi Festival, an event announced by Diamond Platnumz. The festival's lineup includes Harmonize, who recently left WCB, and several international artists.
However, the event took a turn when Ali Kiba, a prominent Tanzanian musician, declined WCB's offer to perform at the festival. In response, Diamond Platnumz' manager, Babu Tale, released a statement addressing the situation.
According to Babu Tale, he had reached out to Ali Kiba before traveling to the US to invite him to perform at the festival. Tale emphasized that music is about competition, but when it comes to big events, artists come together. He also noted that the decision not to perform at the festival was not personal and that people should not let hate tear the industry apart.
Ali Kiba had previously taken to social media to throw shade at Diamond Platnumz after receiving a call from Tale. However, Babu Tale has since stated that he has left Ali Kiba alone, as requested by the singer.
Despite the controversy surrounding Ali Kiba's decision not to perform at the festival, the event is expected to feature several international artists and will be a major celebration of music in Tanzania.
