On November 7, 2019, residents of Kibra constituency in Kenya cast their votes in a highly anticipated by-election, marked by a heavy security presence.
According to reports, voters began swarming the 183 polling stations in the constituency as early as 5am, eager to exercise their democratic right.

The voting process kicked off shortly after 6am, with the five wards in the city constituency - Laini Saba, Lindi, Makina, Woodley, and Sarang'ombe - estimated to have 17,455, 16,688, 25,695, 28,066, and 30,754 voters respectively.
The by-election, which attracted at least 24 candidates, aimed to fill the seat left vacant by the late Ken Okoth, who succumbed to cancer.
