Kenyan singer Akothee has expressed her frustration with a US-based promoter, Sarah Okindo, after a recent show in Minneapolis went awry.

According to Akothee, she was scheduled to perform on stage but was delayed due to payment issues and other logistical problems.

She took to social media to share her experience, stating that she was left stranded at the venue with no car to take her back to the hotel.

Akothee revealed that she had invested over $650,000 (Ksh65 million) in building her brand and would do anything to protect it.

She also expressed her disappointment with the poor organisational skills of promoters, stating that artists are often at their mercy.

She wrote, 'I was awake by 10.00 PM, I was ready for the show by 12.00 but there was no car to take me to the venue, and you [Sarah] had not given the manager the balance?, you came to pick me up at 1.30 and we arrived at the venue at 2.00am? you driving like crazy on the road because fans were tired and leaving the venue, I was afraid for my life.'

She also shared a photo session with fans, which was not in her program, but was charged extra for a personal photo for VIP.

Akothee apologized to her fans and revealed that she values and respects them, but will not tolerate disrespect or rubbish from them.

She concluded by saying, 'I am human with blood and flesh too! I’ll give it to you just like you served it. it’s my nature. Lying is not in my dictionary, that’s why most people can’t keep up with me! Don’t share your family with me! My own is messed up with so many baby daddies, how can I help you.'
