Published on November 6, 2019, a mother and her daughter in Migori County were forced to seek refuge after threats from a family member who allegedly defiled the girl.

The 9-year-old girl, in Class Two, was repeatedly defiled by her uncle six times, but she had not told her mother out of fear.

However, the seventh act, which happened three days ago, left her with serious injuries, exposing the shocking ordeal she had been going through.

According to reports, the suspect threatened to kill the family if the matter was reported to the police.

Despite this, the mother took her daughter to Migori Level Four Hospital and reported the matter at Central Police Station.

Migori County Human Rights Activists leader George Chacha questioned why police had yet to make any arrests, despite the matter being reported.
