Published on November 6, 2019, Airtel Kenya has finally introduced a data manager feature, a long-awaited solution for its subscribers.

For those who have ever been automatically switched to the normal pay-as-you-go plan after their internet bundle subscription period lapses, this new feature is a welcome relief. No more lost airtime due to forgotten renewals or expired bundles.

The data manager is accessible through Airtel Kenya's 544# shortcode, although it's located on the second page, requiring at least two steps to access. Hopefully, the company will follow Safaricom's lead and move it to the first page for easier access.

With this introduction, all of Kenya's main network operators now offer their subscribers some form of control over their airtime consumption, with Jamii Telecommunications Limited (JTL) being the last holdout to introduce the feature.
