McDonald Mariga, the Jubilee flag bearer for the Kibra parliamentary seat by-election, has shed light on his voting history, revealing that his international soccer commitments kept him away from the polls during general elections.
Mariga, a former footballer, explained that his absence from voting exercises was due to his busy schedule playing soccer abroad. However, he emphasized that his experience in football has taught him valuable lessons about teamwork, which he believes will serve him well in serving the people of Kibra.
According to Mariga, the Kibra by-election presents a choice between those who 'play football on the microphone' and those who are willing to 'build stadiums so that football is no longer played on the microphone but on the pitch.'
Mariga's promises for Kibra residents include the construction of public schools in every ward, creating job opportunities through a tailoring center, and building stadiums, among other initiatives. He emphasized that his goal is to provide good service to the people of Kibra.
Mariga's entry into politics was motivated by the lessons he learned from football, which he believes will enable him to work effectively with the people of Kibra.
