On November 6, 2019, Gor Mahia FC announced the suspension of their e-ticketing system, citing verification flaws and financial losses.
The club's chairman, Ambrose Rachier, stated that the system had been plagued by issues, including the inability to verify online-generated tickets, which had led to fraudsters selling tickets and diminishing gate revenues.
According to Rachier, the club had collected Sh900,000 in the first match using the e-ticketing system but had seen a significant decline in revenue, with the most recent international match against DC Motema Pembe at Kasarani collecting only half a million.
The chairman expressed concern that the service provider lacked verification scanners, posing a significant threat to the club's finances.
Gor Mahia FC will revert to traditional ticket sales for their upcoming matches, including the Mashemeji Derby fixture on Sunday.
