On November 6, 2019, a Safari Link plane experienced a tyre burst on landing at Wilson airport, causing it to veer off the runway.

Emergency services were quickly called to the scene, but fortunately, there were no casualties.

The incident occurred at intersection RWY 07 and 14, where the plane model De Havilland Dash-8 (5Y-SLD) had a tyre burst on landing.

This is the second tyre-related incident for Safarilink in less than two weeks at Wilson airport, with runway 14 still closed.

Just over a week earlier, on October 11, 2019, a Silverstone Air Services Fokker 27 Mark 050 experienced a runway excursion on takeoff from the same runway, resulting in slight injuries to eight passengers.
