Published on November 6, 2019, Akothee's recent US show in Minneapolis, Minnesota, turned out to be a nightmare courtesy of a careless promoter.
According to the singer, the promoter, Sarah Okindo, failed to provide a driver to pick her from the hotel, canceled her return flight, left her with an unpaid hotel bill, and did not give her the donations agreed upon for the Akothee foundation.
Akothee took to social media to share her ordeal, stating that she was forced to cancel her flight to attend the show, despite having prior commitments in Nigeria. She also claimed that Okindo changed the venue just four days before the show, without informing her management.
On the day of the show, Akothee alleged that Okindo picked her up late, and then drove at a high speed to the venue, putting her life in danger. After the show, Akothee was left stranded without a car to drive her back to the hotel, and was only taken back to the hotel after a gentleman intervened.
Okindo's actions have left many wondering what happened to the promoter's hospitality and respect for her guests.
