On November 3, 2019, the MTV EMA 2019 awards took place in Seville, Spain, where Nigerian artist Burna Boy emerged victorious in the Best African Act category.
Harmonize, a Tanzanian musician, was also nominated for the same award but unfortunately lost to Burna Boy.
Burna Boy's win was a significant moment for the Nigerian artist, who took home two awards at the event.
Harmonize, however, took the loss in stride and congratulated Burna Boy on his win, saying 'Congratis King @burnaboygram? For 2?? One Night?? Asante Pia Kwa Kila Aliechukua Time Yake Na Kunipia Kura Mungu Akubariki Sana…!!! Next time I will be there again …!!!?? Kwauwezo Wa Mungu …!! Thanks alot @mtvema 4 nomination? this is just beginning ONE LOVE??'
Despite the loss, Harmonize's fans back home were not pleased, feeling that he had a strong chance of winning the award.
