The US Diversity Visa Program for fiscal year 2021, also known as the Green Card Lottery, is set to close its registration period in a few hours.
According to the State Department, which runs the program, no entries will be accepted after the deadline of 12pm EST on November 5th.
Applicants must submit their entries online at dvlottery.state.gov to be eligible for the 50,000 permanent resident visas available to nationalities of countries with low immigration rates to the United States over the last five years.
Each year, millions of people from around the world participate in the lottery, with 14 million entries submitted last year alone.
