Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has taken aim at Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga over his relationship with Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, her arch political rival.
Ndeti expressed her disappointment with Odinga's remarks about Kamba women during a rally in Kibra, where he referred to them in jest.
“Wakamba ni waaminifu na hao ni kama kina mama, wakisema watakupatia, watakupatia,” he said amid cheers from the crowd.
Ndeti criticized Odinga on her Twitter account, stating that the Kamba community has been loyal to him for 10 years and that he should respect her community.
“Baba I’m very disappointed with your statement. Kambas are patient and loyal but we will not be taken for granted under any circumstance. We supported you for 10 years and you should respect my community,” she tweeted.
Leaders from the Kamba community who were present during Odinga’s rally in Kibra, including Governors Alfred Mutua, Charity Ngilu, and Kivutha Kibwana, did not take issue with Odinga’s statement.
