Released on November 5, 2019, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) revealed the results of the 2019 National Population and Housing Census, providing a detailed breakdown of Nairobi's population.
With a total population of 4,397,073, Nairobi's sub-counties have varying levels of population density. Embakasi stands out as the most populous sub-county, with a staggering 988,808 residents.
Other densely populated sub-counties include Kasarani (780,656), Njiru (626,482), Dagoretti (434,208), and Westlands (308,854).
On the other end of the spectrum, Kibra has the lowest population, with 185,777 residents. The census results are expected to aid the county government in allocating resources for the next 10 years.
