On March 4, 2019, Nairobi City Stars secured a crucial 2-1 win over Migori Youths at Camp Toyoyo, extending their unbeaten run in the National Super League.
Wycliffe Otieno and Oliver Maloba's goals handed coach Sanjin Alagić his 10th win of the season, solidifying City Stars' position at the top of the standings with 32 points.
City Stars captain Calvins Masawa expressed the team's determination to maintain their lead, citing their goal of returning to topflight football next season.
"We have been working as a united team under an excellent coach with a goal of finishing top at the end of the season. We are training hard after each game and we hope to maintain the winning form," Masawa said.
Other results from the weekend saw Ushuru thrash Talanta 4-0, while Shabana held Eldoret Youth to a 1-1 draw. Nairobi Stima leapfrogged Bidco United and went second in the standings with 26 points after thrashing St Joseph Youth 3-1 in Nakuru.
