Published on November 5, 2019, Ethic music group has apologised for releasing the explicit song Tarimbo, which received heavy backlash from the public.

The song, which has garnered over 670k viewers on YouTube, has been accused of promoting rape and violence against women.

According to the views of Kenyans, the song's lyrics, which include 'Mi hupenda chapa na tarimbo' and 'Mi huchapa chapa na nakanyaga', are highly offensive.

However, in a statement published on their social media accounts, Ethic apologised for releasing the explicit content, stating that it was not their intention to disrespect anyone.

As artists, they said, they are sons to their mothers, brothers to their sisters, uncles to their nieces and friends to their female friends and fans, and it is not in any way their intention to publicize violence or rape against these highly revered individuals in their community.
