On Monday, November 4, 2019, Arsenal made a significant move in their academy setup by sacking eight members of staff, including Steve Morrow, the head of their youth scouting team.
Morrow, a 49-year-old, had been with the North London Premier League club for 20 years, initially as a player and later as a staff member. He even played and scored in Arsenal's 1993 League Cup final-winning team against Sheffield Wednesday.
However, Morrow's reign with Arsenal has come to an end. He broke his arm in the 1993 League Cup final and was later dropped from the team.
Other staff members who have reportedly been sacked include Ex Chelsea player Dave Lee, Kevin Beadell, and Dan Rice, who held recruitment roles with Arsenal.
The club has yet to confirm the departures, but reports suggest that the move is part of a major restructuring at the Emirates club following their recent slump in the league.
The Gunners are currently occupying fifth position on the Premier League standings with 17 points after 11 games played this season.
