On November 5, 2019, a delegation of federation chiefs, accompanied by national team players, appeared before the Parliamentary Committee in charge of Sports, Culture and Arts to discuss their financial woes.
At the forefront of the delegation was Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa, who was joined by Harambee Stars and Harambee Starlets players, including Joash Ochieng, Erick Ouma, Dennis Odhiambo, and Bernard Ochieng, as well as Mwanahalima Adam, the star forward of Harambee Starlets.
The meeting came just a week after Mwendwa publicly accused Sports Principal Secretary Kirimi Kaberia of frustrating FKF by failing to fund their national teams.
Other federation chiefs present included Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) vice chairman Thomas Opiyo and Chief Executive Sylvia Kamau, who were accompanied by Kenya Sevens captain Andrew Amonde and his Kenya Lionesses counterpart Philadelphia Olando.
Also in attendance were Athletics Kenya senior deputy president Paul Mutwii, Kenya Table Tennis Association (KTTA) president Andrew Mudibo, and players from national hockey teams.
