On November 8th-29th, 2019, Jumia is hosting its annual Black Friday event, dubbed 'The Biggest Save of the Year', with a goal of attracting 16 million Kenyan visitors to the platform.

According to Jumia, this year's event will feature deals of up to 90% off on 10 million products from leading brands such as Nivea, Samsung, Jameson, and Unilever.

"Our teams have been working hand in hand with vendors to offer our customers the best Black Friday. We will feature once-in-a-year discounts across 10M products, so there is something for everyone," said Jumia Kenya CEO, Sam Chappatte.

App-only deals will include discount vouchers, flash sales, golden tickets (Sh. 50,000 voucher), and exclusive deals like Mbuzi for only Sh. 1,000 and motorbikes (boda boda) at Sh. 100 bob only.

Google estimates that Kenya had 13 million active internet users in 2018, and major campaigns like Black Friday are widely seen as helping digitize the local economy by providing opportunities for customers to log on and save time and money.
