On November 5, 2019, Chief Justice David Maraga expressed his frustrations with the Executive in a press conference, citing instances of intimidation despite his high rank in the government.
Responding to Maraga's concerns, Majority Senate Leader Kipchumba Murkomen took to Twitter to offer his advice, urging the CJ to use his position to fight back against his tormentors.
Murkomen's tweet read, 'My message to the Chief Justice David Maraga, you have teeth, bite. A tiger does not proclaim its tigritude before it strikes. You gave your tormentors an inch they want a mile. Lead.'
He further declared his support for the Judiciary, stating, 'All said and done I stand with the CJ and the Judiciary.'
Maraga's press conference highlighted the challenges faced by the Judiciary in the face of Executive interference, prompting Murkomen's call to action.
