Facebook Inc has taken a significant step to rebrand itself following the Cambridge Analytica scandal. The social media giant has unveiled a new logo to distinguish it from its owned apps, including Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
According to Facebook's Chief Marketing Officer, Antonio Lucio, the new brand will be used within the company's products and marketing materials, including a revamped Facebook for Business website.
“Over the coming weeks, we will start using the new brand within our products and marketing materials, including a new company website,” Lucio said.
The rebranding effort is aimed at better communicating Facebook's ownership structure to its users and businesses. As Lucio explained, “This brand change is a way to better communicate our ownership structure to the people and businesses who use our services to connect, share, build community and grow their audiences.”
