On November 3, 2019, singer Harmonize was scheduled to perform at a rally in Kibra, Kenya, organized by the Jubilee party. However, he refused the invitation, citing a fee of KSh 3 million.
According to Nairobi News, Harmonize had demanded to be paid KSh 3 million for his performance, but the Jubilee party had initially refused to pay him the amount.
The party had instead offered him a lower fee, which Harmonize rejected. As a result, he refused to perform at the rally.
Kenyan singer Kenyatta Hill was scheduled to open for Harmonize, but he took the opportunity to perform for supporters of McDonald Mariga, a Jubilee candidate in the Kibra by-election.
