Stivo Simple Boy, a talented singer from Oyugis in Homa Bay County, has been making headlines in the music industry despite being in the game for only four months.
His rise to fame began with the release of his anti-drugs anthem 'Vijana Tuache Mihadarati' and was followed by 'Uhalifu', a song that rallies the youth to stop crime.
Recently, K24's Betty Kyallo hosted Simple Boy in an interview where he shared his inspiring story.
Stivo, who grew up in a humble background with eight siblings, revealed that they would often go to bed hungry due to financial constraints.
He also shared that he never got the chance to pursue his education, having dropped out of primary school in class 8 due to lack of school fees.
Simple Boy's journey to stardom started in school during music festivals, where his teachers recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue music.
He also sang in church, where despite not being big fans of rap music, they supported his gift.
Stivo's first song was 'Ukimwi', which aimed to advocate for abstinence and the use of protection.
Despite releasing educational songs, Simple Boy noted that the income isn't substantial, and he looks up to Khaligraph Jones as a role model, hoping to collaborate with him in the future.
