On November 5, 2019, a dramatic scene unfolded in Ogembo, Kisii, as James Onyancha was caught red-handed by his best friend, Momanyi, in bed with his wife, Kerubo.
Momanyi had been tipped off by his neighbours that his wife was having an affair with Onyancha, and he decided to take matters into his own hands.
He sought the help of native doctor Mwikali Kilonzo, who cast a love spell to trap the cheating lovers. The spell was said to be effective in catching cheating partners.
After three days, the spell took effect, and Onyancha and Kerubo got stuck while making love. Their agonising groans attracted the attention of their neighbours, who quickly informed Momanyi of the weird development.
He arrived armed with a machete, ready to slice Onyancha into pieces, but the neighbours pleaded with him not to. The security personnel who were on patrol intervened, and after long negotiations, the two were separated.
Onyancha had to part with a hefty fine, and the incident served as a warning to those who engage in extramarital affairs.
