The US Diversity Visa Program, also known as the Green Card Lottery, has been a popular option for millions of people worldwide seeking permanent resident visas in the United States.

As of October 2nd, the registration period for the fiscal year 2021 (DV-2021) has been open, but it will close tomorrow, November 5th, 2019, at 12pm EST.

According to the State Department, which runs the program, no entries will be accepted after the deadline, and all entries must be submitted online at dvlottery.state.gov.

The Department advises those planning to submit entries to not wait until the last minute to do so, as the website may get slowed by high traffic.

Each year, millions of people from around the world participate in the lottery, with 14 million people submitting entries last year alone.

The Diversity Visa program makes 50,000 permanent resident visas available to nationalities of countries with low immigration rates to the United States over the last five years.
