On November 4, 2019, a devastating road accident occurred on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway, claiming the lives of five people, including a child.
The accident involved three cars, with a personal car carrying the five ramming head-on into a truck. The truck driver lost control, hitting an oncoming truck before rolling by the roadside.
According to eyewitness Stephen Mungai, the driver of the personal car may have been to blame, as they attempted to overtake a fleet of vehicles and underestimated the speed of oncoming traffic.
Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru confirmed the incident, stating that the bodies had been taken to the area mortuary.
