On November 4, 2019, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) made history by advancing to the second round of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) qualifiers.

The team, based in Mombasa, Kenya, topped their group in the first round held in Madagascar, defeating all their opponents in the process.

Their impressive performance earned them a spot in the second round, which will be held in Rwanda later this month.

According to their head coach, Sammy Kiki, the team's success can be attributed to their perfect execution and adherence to instructions.

"We played well, execution was perfect as the boys played according to instructions and that's why we emerged champions," Kiki said.

With this achievement, KPA is one step closer to realizing their dream of playing in the BAL league, which will take place in Rwanda next year.
