On October 11, 2019, a tragic incident occurred in Nairobi's Mathare slums, where a man named Moses Memba was fatally stabbed by his neighbor Pius Jwang'a Ouma.
According to reports, Ouma had picked a fight with his wife Evelyn Wafula over domestic issues at their Mabatini house. Memba, who had been alerted by Wafula's pleas for help, walked into the house and was stabbed in the groin by Ouma, who allegedly pulled a knife from under his bed.
Ouma fled the scene but was later arrested on October 15, 2019, in Limuru. He has been in custody since then, with Corporal Nicholas Chigiri of the Starehe DCI offices seeking to hold him for 14 days.
On November 4, 2019, Ouma appeared in court for the mention of his case after the expiry of the 14-day custodial orders. He will be charged with manslaughter.
