Kenyan music fans were left disappointed when Tanzanian singer Harmonize failed to show up for a concert in Kibra on Sunday.
According to sources, Harmonize was booked as the headline act for Jubilee's concert, but his fee of Sh 3 million was not paid upfront as he demanded.
Deputy President William Ruto's team had lined up a number of international and local artists, including Jamaican Kenyatta Hill, but Harmonize's no-show left them scrambling to fill the gap.
It's not clear why Harmonize rejected the offer to perform, but the explanation seemed curious given DP Ruto's reputation for splashing cash during his campaigns.
Harmonize's decision to walk out on the concert has sparked questions about the generosity of DP Ruto's team and the value placed on local artists.
