Relationships can be challenging, and one reason is the unrealistic expectations men often have of women. A closer look at these expectations reveals some interesting dynamics.
For instance, some men expect a woman to be their friend with benefits for life, without any intention of marrying her. This is unrealistic, as women are also human beings with their own desires and aspirations. Won't she find someone to marry, and is it even possible to be a friend with benefits for life?
Another expectation is that women should be natural but also super stunning. While it's true that women have natural beauty, it's unrealistic to expect them to look a certain way without makeup. Shouldn't men expect women to be caring, honest, and all those nice things?
Things that turn off a woman ¶
Some men also expect women to be committed but not wedding-crazy. However, every woman has planned her wedding by the time she's done with college, whether or not she has a man. Expecting to date her without any mention of future plans is unrealistic.
Additionally, men often expect women to be low maintenance while looking high maintenance. However, if you want her to look like a 'high maintenance' girl, you need to spend money on her for maintenance. The word itself says 'high maintenance,' so how can you expect her to look the same with almost no money?
Lastly, men often expect women to be distant while still showing interest. However, women can't be turned on and off like a switch. Either you're in or you're out.
