Published on November 4, 2019, the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census (KPHC) aimed to collect vital information on the size, composition, distribution, and socio-economic characteristics of the population.
The census data will be used in planning, budgeting, and programming for essential services, future policy formulation, resource allocation, creation of administrative and political units, monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects, research, and development of a master household sampling frame.
The KPHC will also provide a benchmark for agricultural census/surveys, business, industry, and labor, as well as inform the formulation of housing policy and programs.
