On October 19, 2019, a disturbing incident occurred at a popular club in Bomet County, involving Vincent Mutai, a nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA) in the area.

Mutai, popularly known as Kipnuachet, allegedly attacked and injured Getrude 'Spears' after she discovered him in a compromising position with another woman.

According to a police officer familiar with the case, the incident began when Getrude arrived at the club and found Mutai with another woman. In response, she grabbed his phone and smashed it on the ground, leading to a physical altercation.

The officer claimed that Mutai 'clobbered' Getrude, causing her to sustain injuries on her knees, including a cut inflicted by a broken bottle.

Despite the incident being reported to the Bomet police station, Getrude has yet to record a statement or obtain a P3 form, which would have allowed for Mutai's arrest two weeks ago.
