On November 4, 2019, a disturbing incident unfolded at a popular club in Bomet County, involving a nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA) and a young woman identified as Getrude.

According to sources, Vincent Mutai, the MCA, allegedly attacked and injured Getrude after she rejected his advances and found him kissing another woman.

A police officer privy to the matter revealed that Mutai has been trying to make amends with Getrude since their intimate relationship ended, but his efforts were met with resistance.

‘They had been in a relationship, but that evening, she arrived and found him kissing another lady, leading to a brawl. Getrude grabbed Mutai’s phone and smashed it on the ground, forcing him to beat her. She fell on a broken bottle, leaving her with knee injuries,’ the officer said.

The incident was reported at Bomet police station under OB 02/19/10/2019, but Getrude has yet to record a statement or acquire a P3 form, hindering Mutai’s potential arrest.
