On November 4, 2019, Kenya's population was revealed to have expanded by 9 million in the past decade, reaching a total of 47.6 million, as per the latest census results.
The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) data showed that the country has 24 million females, 23.5 million males, and 1,524 intersex individuals.
The most populous county in Kenya is Nairobi, followed by Kiambu, Nakuru, Kakamega, Bungoma, and Kilifi.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, during the release of the census results at State House, noted that this was the first census conducted under the 2010 constitution.
The results of the census, which was conducted on the nights of August 24 and 25, were released by KNBS director general Zachary Mwangi.
