On November 4, 2019, a court in America ordered a mother to pay her cheating husband £5,800 (Sh.774,000) in a divorce settlement.

Brandi Lee, a mother of two, had discovered her husband's infidelity with a family friend who had attended their wedding. The court's decision was a shock to Brandi, who felt it was unfair to pay her cheating ex-husband any amount of money.

However, Brandi found a clever way to pay her ex-husband the settlement amount. She went to her local bank and explained her plan to pay her ex-husband entirely in coins. The bank staff were more than happy to assist her in turning the settlement into ten-cent coins and even supported her with a payment plan.

Ten huge boxes of coins weighing roughly 160kg were then sent to her husband to deal with. The move was met with praise from people who loved her 'genius' move, with one commenting: "I wish we could see his reaction lol, good for you!"

This is not the first time a split couple have used divorce proceedings to get back at one another. In a similar case, a man was ordered to pay his ex-wife Sh19 million in compensation for the 27 years of their marriage she had spent doing the housework and raising their children.
