On November 4, 2019, Moses Kanyira, a former Kameme FM journalist, penned an open letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta, expressing his disappointment and questioning his dismissal from the media house.
According to the letter, Moses was directly involved in driving some of President Kenyatta's agendas that affect the Kenyan people and drumming support for his political campaigns.
He highlighted his efforts in the fight against second-generation liquor in 2015, which gained momentum after President Kenyatta joined the fight, leading to a significant reduction in youth sobriety issues.
Moses also mentioned his appointment as the chairman of the media fighting against the menace, where he worked alongside other media colleagues, including the current Kiambu women representative, Gathoni wa Muchomba.
During the 2017 and 2022 elections, Moses was directly involved in President Kenyatta's campaign, coming up with the slogan 'Kumira kumira' to encourage mass voter registration and large-scale voting.
However, Moses was subjected to ridicule by influential people who claimed he was writing negative stories towards B.B.I, leading to his eventual dismissal from Kameme FM.
In the letter, Moses questioned whether his dismissal was a result of President Kenyatta's directives, stating that the claim was false and fabricated to destroy his reputation and career.
