Published on November 4, 2019, Wavinya Ndeti, a 2017 Machakos gubernatorial aspirant, has taken issue with ODM leader Raila Odinga over his recent comments on the Kamba community.
During a campaign event in Kibra Constituency, Raila Odinga met with the Kamba community as he campaigned for ODM's Bernard Imran Okoth in the November 7 Kibra by-election.
However, Wavinya Ndeti has expressed disappointment with Raila's remarks, stating that the Kamba community has consistently supported the opposition leader for the past 10 years.
“Baba, I'm very disappointed with your statement. Kambas are patient and loyal but we will not be taken for granted under any circumstance. We supported you for 10 years and you should respect my community,” Wavinya Ndeti wrote in a tweet.
Raila Odinga's comments, which were captured in a viral video, suggested that people from the Kamba community are reliable, likening them to women who keep their word.
“Najua Wakamba ni waaminifu kama wamama. Wakisema watakupatia, watakupatia,” Raila Odinga said in the video.
