Highschool Principal Dies in Accident While Collecting KCSE Exams

Naivasha-Mai Mahiu road witnessed a tragic accident on November 4, 2019, claiming the life of a school principal. The vehicle, carrying three people, was headed towards Naivasha town to collect KCSE papers when it collided with a stalled lorry near Governor's camp.

The female teacher from a school in Mai Mahiu town died instantly, while the other teacher and the driver sustained serious injuries.

Naivasha deputy commissioner Mathioya Mbogo confirmed the incident and stated that plans had been made to supply the affected schools with exams.

"Our officers have been dispatched to the ground to get finer details of those involved, but we have already dispatched the exams papers," Mr. Mbogo said.

KCSE examinations commenced on Monday, November 4, 2019, at 10,287 exam centers across the country, amidst heavy rain in most areas. A total of 699,745 candidates were expected to take the tests, compared to 664,585 in 2018.
