Published on November 4, 2019, a day that will be remembered for the sheer audacity of a South Sudanese MP, Martha Nyanuer, who gambled away a whooping 2 million dollars at a top city hotel in Nairobi.

While her colleagues in the US are resigning over affairs with staffers, MPs in Kenya are engaging in scandalous behavior, including having sex in public offices and clogging drainage systems in Parliament.

Martha Nyanuer, chairperson of Gender and equality operations, is no stranger to controversy. She is the second wife to sacked former Minister of Petroleum Ezekiel Loi Gatkuoth, who was fired over corruption allegations running into millions of US dollars.

According to sources, Nyanuer has been using her fortunes to host secret meetings in top-range Nairobi city hotels to blackmail President Salva Kiir into reappointing her husband to the cabinet.

She allegedly engages in sexual escapades with powerful politicians and businessmen in Kenya, a country known to provide a safe haven for political misfits and crooks, including those behind war crimes and plunder in Sudan.

As the drama unfolded at the RKL international casino, Nyanuer's behavior sparked a heated debate about the lack of accountability among African politicians.
