Former Sauti Sol personal assistant Said Hussein is set to represent Kenya at the highly anticipated Mr Africa International pageant, scheduled to take place in Lagos, Nigeria, from December 3 to 9.
According to sources, Hussein will be competing against 20 other contestants from various African countries for the coveted title.
Despite facing body shaming and negative comments, Hussein has remained confident and believes he has the discipline, stamina, and brains to emerge victorious.
He has also expressed his desire to use his platform to inspire the younger generation and encourage them to believe in themselves.
Additionally, Hussein hopes to win the title and establish a school in Malindi for special children.
He has also promised to help the youths in Malindi to overcome addiction and focus on their dreams instead of taking drugs.
As Hussein prepares for the pageant, he wakes up at 3 am to meditate, a practice he believes has helped him stay focused and motivated.
Speaking about his journey, Hussein said, 'This year has been my lowest since I got a lot of negative comments about my body and my looks which got into my head at some point and almost made me lose confidence in myself.'
However, he refused to let the negativity get to him and instead chose to believe in himself, saying, 'As much as I got discouraged by so many people, I believed in myself and all that it took to prepare for this pageant.'
