November 4, 2019, marked a turning point for Felix Mwangi, a 23-year-old who had graduated with a diploma in building and civil engineering but struggled to find gainful employment.

Undeterred, Mwangi enrolled at Trendy Links, a vocational training institution in Nakuru, where he honed his skills in garment production.

After completing his training, Mwangi was posted to Kitui as a consultant in the garment making and customisation field, working on the government's Kitui County Textile Centre project.

Upon the project's completion, Mwangi returned to Nakuru and started his own business, specializing in garment making and customisation, graphic designs, and printing works.

He began by knitting school sweaters and was soon joined by two former schoolmates who received training in graphic designing, branding, knitting, sewing, and marketing.

Despite facing challenges such as lack of capital and unreliable clients, Mwangi's business generates approximately Sh150,000 in a good month.
