The soldiers had previously squeezed a slim 80-78 win over Lakeside in their first game, played in Kisumu.
Eric Mutoro starred for Ulinzi with 29 points, while James Mwangi added 20. Justus Okutoyi top scored for Lakeside with 19 points.
Ulinzi will now wait to see who they will face in the semis between defending champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and Strathmore University Blades.
Coach William Balozi acknowledged that the semifinals will be a tough test, saying, 'So far, so good but there are areas we still need to polish ahead of the semis. It will be a tough task because both KPA and Strathmore are strong sides.'
