On November 3, 2019, Kenyan football champions Gor Mahia were eliminated from the Caf Confederation Cup after losing 2-1 to DR Congo's DC Motema Pembe in the second leg play-off match in Kinshasa.

The loss marked the end of Gor Mahia's hopes of advancing to the group stage, having lost 3-2 on aggregate after a 1-1 draw in the first leg at Kasarani a week earlier.

Wellington Ochieng scored the opening goal for Gor Mahia in the 10th minute, but Vinny Bongonga equalized for Motema Pembe in stoppage time of the first half. Junior Kone then scored the winner for Motema Pembe in the 64th minute.

Despite a strong second half push by Gor Mahia, they were unable to level the score, with Motema Pembe's defense holding firm.
