On the eve of the Kibra by-election, voters in the constituency made a dramatic shift in their support, abandoning their initial choices and flocking to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) caravan.

As the campaign window narrowed, candidates held last-minute rallies in various parts of Kibra, in a bid to woo voters. However, it was ODM that seemed to have won over the hearts of the constituents.

Deputy President William Ruto was leading the Jubilee rally for McDonald Mariga at Laini Saba area, while ODM leader Raila Odinga was expected to take his campaigns for ODM's Imran Okoth at Woodley Stadium in Kibra.

On the ground, the ODM caravan was a hive of activity, with residents and traders moving to join the party's campaign, abandoning the rival Amani National Congress (ANC) meeting. The ANC's final campaign at the Kenyatta market was attended by a handful of supporters, but they later defected to the ODM party.

As the ODM caravan rolled into town, residents were seen happily donning the party's cap and T-shirts, receiving merchandise and showing their support for the party.
