On November 3, 2019, the Kenya Films and Classification Board (KFCB) boss Ezekiel Mutua sparked a heated debate on social media by calling for the arrest of Ethic music group.
His statement was in response to the group's latest song, 'Tarimbo', which he claimed advocated for violence against women.
Mutua also revealed that he had written to Google, requesting that the song be taken down from YouTube.
However, the controversy surrounding Ethic took a new turn when socialite Huddah Monroe accused the group of conning her.
Monroe, the CEO of Huddah Cosmetics, claimed that she had paid Ethic to record a song appreciating women and their beauty, with her business featured prominently in the track.
But the project never materialized, and Monroe alleged that Ethic disappeared with her deposit, leaving her with no updates on the project's progress.
