On November 2, 2019, ODM leader Raila Odinga hosted governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and Alfred Mutua (Machakos) at his Upper Hill office in Nairobi, marking a significant move in his bid to secure the vacant Kibra Parliamentary seat.

With the November 7 by-election just around the corner, Raila's meeting with the Ukambani duo sent a clear message to Kalonzo Musyoka, his former running mate in the 2017 General Election.

The trio, including ODM's Bernard Otieno Okoth (Imran Okoth), urged leaders from Kamba land to support the ODM flag bearer in the upcoming election.

As Raila continues to assemble a new team ahead of the 2022 General Elections, his recent moves suggest a shift in his political strategy, potentially redrawing the country's political landscape.
